miniMAKEathon: It’s unlike the usual hackathon…

We are entering the age of innovation, in which everything around us is rooted from, and created by S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics). This year marks the first miniMAKEathon in STEM history which will be taking place April 16th and 17th (Saturday/Sunday) from 10am-5pm each day at the OC Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa. This also marks the exclusive release of STEMbility’s Season 2 Trailer! (This means that all attending the miniMAKEathon on Sunday, April 17th will be the first to view the trailer!)

This event is unlike your usual Hackathon and/or Makeathon because it will be allowing high school and college students to create and innovate projects throughout the day (without having to stay overnight). Students who are participating in the miniMAKEathon will be on-site throughout the weekend working on their mini STEM projects. This event is FREE for all audiences so take this opportunity (and mark your calendars) to support and watch the young minds of Orange County develop projects and inspire you!

For students interested in participating: There is still time to register! (deadline is Wednesday, April 13th)This is your chance to create a project, showcase it, and compete for a prize. Not only that, but you will be mentored by STEM experts with extensive experience who will be sharing their knowledge with you. This is your stepping stone into the innovative STEM world!

Audience: Again, the miniMAKEathon is FREE for audience members so why not make the time to stop by for a few hours and network? This event not only has students creating projects, but there will also be several exciting companies and organizations there including STEMbility, Mathobotix, and DroneFlux. Make sure to be present on Sunday, April 17th for the Awards Ceremony where STEMbility will have an exclusive showing of our never-seen-before Season 2 trailer!

Students ages 14+: DroneFlux, Mathobotix, and STEMbility have collaborated to host a DRONE WORKSHOP for the public where you will learn to build and fly!

Ages 11+: Mathobotix will be having Raspberry Pi and Arduino workshops going on throughout the day, on both days.

Ages 5-10: Mathobotix will also be running Battle Bots competitions using robots (which students will get to to build) all day, on both days.

We hope you can join us at this amazing event and we look forward to seeing you there!
